Question 1

What is laser teeth whitening and how does it work?

Accepted Answer

Laser teeth whitening is a professional treatment that uses a clinically formulated whitening gel activated by a specialised light. The gel penetrates the enamel to break down stains and discolouration, brightening the teeth by several shades in a single session. The treatment is performed by qualified practitioners in a controlled clinical environment.

Question 2

How many shades whiter will my teeth become?

Accepted Answer

Most clients see a noticeable improvement of several shades following a single session, though results vary depending on the natural shade of your teeth, the type of staining present and your lifestyle factors. Your practitioner will discuss realistic expectations during your consultation based on your starting shade.

Question 3

Is laser teeth whitening safe?

Accepted Answer

When performed by qualified practitioners using professional-grade equipment, laser teeth whitening is a well-established and safe treatment. Your practitioner will assess your teeth and gums before treatment to ensure suitability. Some clients experience temporary sensitivity following the treatment, which typically resolves within a day or two.

Question 4

How long does the treatment take?

Accepted Answer

A laser teeth whitening session typically takes 60 to 90 minutes, including your consultation and preparation. The active whitening phase is usually completed in stages, with the gel and light applied in intervals to ensure even, comfortable results.

Question 5

How long do the results last?

Accepted Answer

Results can last from several months to over a year, depending on your lifestyle — diet, smoking, coffee and tea consumption all affect longevity. Maintaining good oral hygiene and attending periodic top-up treatments can extend the results. Your practitioner provides guidance on how to maintain your brighter smile.

Question 6

Will I experience sensitivity afterwards?

Accepted Answer

Some clients experience mild, temporary tooth sensitivity following treatment. This typically resolves within 24 to 48 hours. Your practitioner will advise on aftercare to minimise sensitivity, including avoiding very hot or cold foods and drinks for the first day.

Question 7

Can anyone have laser teeth whitening?

Accepted Answer

Laser teeth whitening is suitable for most adults with healthy teeth and gums. It is not recommended during pregnancy, for clients with severe gum disease, or for those with certain dental restorations in the visible smile area. Your consultation will confirm whether the treatment is right for you.
